High Performance Butterfly Valves Features & Benefits
Axially Pliant Seal
Valve closed with forward flow. The axial movement produces a simple, leak tight seal. As pressure increases, the seal tightens.
Valve closed, with reverse flow. Bi-directional flow and shut-off are easily accommodated. The same axial movement of the seat assures sealing in either direction.
Valve open with media flowing. The seat's internal pliant membrane precludes radial deformation. To further extend seat life the retainer ring protects the seat from erosion and abrasion.
Simply Superior
The seat is simple. There are no springs to break, no O-rings to swell, no metal hoops to corrode. Installation of the seat is also simple and mistake-proof, because it is symmetrical, it cannot be installed back to front.
Double Offset and Eccentric Disc
In the open position the disc is not in contact with the seat, so no seat deformation can occur, which leads to longer seat life.
On opening, the eccentrically mounted disc moves with a cam-like action, lifting itself off the disc. |
Not only does this greatly extend the seat life, but it also leads to low operating torques which allows the use of smaller, more economical actuators. Because the shaft is located on the back of the disc, there is an uninterrupted 360° seal surface leading to more effective sealing.
